NOTE: The Opus 88 Wine fountain pen uses an eyedropper filling system. The bottom of the "bottle" functions as the pen's "shut off valve." The shut-off valve is used to control airflow. While the valve is closed (screwed shut), the airflow is shut off, which means ink will not flow easily. (Shutting off the ink flow in this way is particularly handy when traveling or flying with your pen). There will still be ink in the feed, so you can write, but eventually, the feed will run dry, and your pen will stop writing until you release more ink. While the valve is open (unscrewed), the air is allowed to flow, which means ink will flow freely. With the valve open, the ink will travel from the barrel to the feed and from the feed to the nib.
